The Right Choice

The bleeding has at least given Jill a rest for the last couple of days not that it has stopped but its not 'crime scene' bleeding as she has grown to calling the bleeding she has at most hours of the day.

It stabs at my heart to hear her crying out in pain in the wee hours of the night. The pain from the tumor seems to rest from just below her hips to right above her knees and comes in waves at least once to twice a day.

Jill was prescribed some pretty strong narcotics to combat the constant pain. In an effort to avoid the possibility of becoming addicted to a strong opiate she has opted to instead of taking the pill every 4 hours to only taking a half a pill when she feels the intense pain begin flaring up.

In two days we had back to southern Maine for Mapping as they aim the lasers to direct the radiation treatments. it is not as close as the cancer treatment center in Brewer but then again the radiation oncologist didn't have her sign any forms okaying if they fuse her bladder to her lower intense and she spends the rest of her life pooping and peeing in a bag.

I think we made the right choice to go to southern Maine regardless of the distance from our home or figuring out how we can afford living 200 miles from home as Jill attends treatment for 8 weeks.
