Well we have a meeting with the Radiation Dr. on Tuesday. But in the meantime we are working to get Jill moved to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. We found that Dana-Farber works with the Maine health care network especially for clinical trials. We have found out about a new drug called Nivolumab that has recently begun use in Europe with really high success in shrinking tumors in stage 4 cervical cancer, even to the point that the patients were sent into remission. Anything we can get from the Gofund Jill is planning to use for her trip to go down to Boston, to pay for her transportation and having to stay away from home for such an extended period of time. The cancer care center in Bangor is not overly experienced with Jill’s type of cancer. They pass out a list of what types of cancer they treat their in a year and how many people it’s been treated in. Where 40% of EMMC’s patients are either suffering from Brest of lung cancer; less than 0.5% have the same cancer as Jill. That number alone has driven me to help her find a solution where they are a little more experienced at dealing with the same type of cancer that she has.
