Going Home

Jill's final radiation treatment was yesterday and, in a few hours, we go home and get to finally unpack the bags of luggage that have accompanied us these last few months.

The surgery for the brachytherapy went better than had been expected. The Doctor was more than please with the progress of reduction in size of the tumor since she had begun treatment. Even though the radiation treatments have finished its effects will continue to attach the tumor for the next couple of months.

We won't know until sometime near the end of July conclusively what effects the treatment will have finally had in killing all of the cancer. The doctor was 'more than pleased' but what I took most that we are heading in the right direction was the nurse Bernadette taking care of Jill as she underwent the portion of Radiation that had filled her with the most fear.

It can't rain all the time; sunny days are on the horizon.
