We went to see Jill's Radiologist yesterday and he was able to put a lot of fears to rest. Since the radiation is the primary means of killing the cancer Dr. Villiotte indicated that the chemo dose Jill will be receiving will be a low and will contain only a single chemo drug and not a drug cocktail.

We also learned that since MaineMed (the hospital in Portland) has both the radiology equipment on site along with the surgery rooms, Instead of Jill having to go to surgery then into an ambulance to the radiology machine for treatment in the next town. Here it will only be a simple push down the hall after surgery. for her to go to treatment.

We also learned the seemingly uncontrollable bleeding that Jill has been suffering is the outer layer of the cancer inside of her coming off almost like a scab from a fresh wound. But once she starts the radiation treatments the excessive bleeding should stop in the first week as the tumor is effected through daily radiation does for 5 weeks.

We leave the hotel in a few hours but I am sure that we will be back again. We have a mapping visit on next Tuesday where they tattoo Jill's sides for directing the external radiation to come.
