After Another Storm

This last storm the weather forced Jill from her treatment track. With over a foot falling in about 12 hours made the journey to 5-hour Chemo to perilous to travel and ensure that she would have a ride back to the hotel. Now they will add another day to the end of Jill’s treatment some time in April.
On Monday when the weather allowed for Jill to make it to treatment, she did so alone as I have been pounding the pavement for a job in the area to support my wife treatment here with her and for the two children at home.

Through her tears she relayed to me what had happened. The nurses had surprised her after treatment instead of leading her back to the locker containing her clothes she was instructed to wait. It was here that she met her new radiation doctor.
Since learning of the method of treatment Jill has feared that final step of the treatment used for treating her type of advanced cancer. It is called brachytherapy, it’s a surgical procedure that consists of implanting three tubes into Jill to remove the final traces of the cancer inside her.
When the doctors described the procedure, Jill referred to it as scene from the movie Saw since they had wanted to wake her up after the surgery for an ambulance ride to the insertion on the radiation tubes in the next town.
Here there is no ambulance ride after the surgery just a gurney ride to the radiation department. It will still require waking her up partly directly after the operation, which has her terrified beyond words.
At least here they have not requested her to sign that her organs may become fused together.

After this storm we have been praying that the one next week does not fall again on Chemo day.
